We proudly serve Brockville, Kemptville, Merrickville-Wolford, North Grenville (including Oxford Mills and Burritts Rapids), Ottawa (including Barrhaven, Findlay Creek, Greely, Kanata, Nepean, Stittsville and neighbouring suburbs), Smiths Falls, Spencerville, Winchester, and surrounding areas in Eastern Ontario.

What's the cost to hire a handyman? How much do you charge?
Our pricing varies depending on the type and complexity of the job. We strive to provide fair and transparent pricing. Typically we steer away from hourly pricing. This benefits us and you, so that you don’t ever have to feel like a job is taking longer than it should. We believe in doing a job right, and we plan for that up front. We offer free quotes priced to match your specific needs so that you know what to expect up front and you can make an informed decision to move forward.

What should I expect when you arrive for a quote?
Punctual & Professional: A uniformed, company-branded handyman will arrive promptly at our agreed-upon time, ready to discuss your project. You can feel confident it’s us when you open your door.
Understanding Your Vision: We'll engage in a thorough discussion with you present as we view the project space directly. This allows us to visually inspect the space and ask targeted questions to fully understand your expectations, specific needs, and your overall vision for the outcome.
Accurate Assessment: To ensure a precise quote, we may take measurements and photos of the area. This helps us capture all necessary details for a comprehensive plan.
Written Quote: After our visit, you'll receive a detailed, written quote outlining the scope of work and associated costs.

What does a quote mean? Is this the price or an estimate?
We aim for a quote to be the price, not an estimate. Once we mutually agree to a quote, that is the price unless something majorly unforeseen happens, which is extremely rare. Our experts are trained to look for possibilities and to consider these when quoting or to decide if there are too many unknowns to offer a straight quote. If there are too many unknowns to offer a straight quote, we may propose an hourly rate or a “stepped” project plan which includes phased quote pricing. In the rare case that we do quote, and something majorly unforeseen is discovered, we will stop work, have a conversation with you and choose the best path forward together. You will never be billed more than we agreed upon in the quote.

How long does it take to get a quote?
We aim to come out to look at your space as soon as we can, typically within a few days of a request. We know that your project is important to you and that you want it taken care of quickly and professionally. We conduct free, no-obligation on site visits so that we can see your space, understand your vision and help you build a custom solution. We’ll send you a written quote, typically within 48 hours, that outlines the work, and how much it costs. Then, you can choose to make an informed decision to move forward, or make any changes to find a solution that works with your plan, and your budget.

How long is a quote good/valid for?
Our Quote Validity: Clear and Transparent
We believe in clear communication from the start. Your free, written quote from Your Local Handyman Service is valid for 14 calendar days from the date it's issued.
This means you have a full two weeks to review the details and confirm you'd like to proceed with the work. The actual start date of your project will always be mutually agreed upon between you and Your Local Handyman Service, ensuring it fits both your schedule and ours. We're committed to transparency and making sure you feel comfortable every step of the way.

Why do quotes expire?
Quotes expire because conditions change. The cost of materials can change or the condition of your space can change. Our quotes are valid for a certain timeframe in order to make sure we can commit to honouring our price.

We will never subcontract an entire job. We may subcontract components of a job, but any work performed by a subcontractor will only take place under the direct supervision of one of our experts, so you can rest assured that your project is completed with the utmost care.
